I love the way Kaneoya Sachiko draws men. She flips the gender roles: men are the “softer sex” in her work; they’re always being taken advantage of by (literally) animalistic women. They’re physically smaller than the women, less muscular, easily subdued by the women. The men in her work are simply sex objects for the women to (sometimes literally) devour. The men are the damsels in distress in her work.
Check out her full gallery here
I love Sachiko’s work, period.
this is THE greatest thing, why havent i seen it before??

The “Candelier” I make for Jellio has just over 3000 hand cast acrylic GummiBears. At 18” diameter, it creates quite a focal point in any room it is installed in.
These are sold at Jellio.com
There are 2 sizes:
18” diameter: $2400.00 open edition
31” diameter: $6500.00 open edition
I built the one for i-Carly and installed it on the set
I am the production manager for Jellio.
These are all hand made by me.
I am also the creator and producer of the “Gummilight” for Jellio, also seen on the i-Carly set.

The Gems You Can’t Spend
Paper sculptor Kirsten Hassenfeld takes the ordinary and turns it into opulence. Believe it or not, what you’re seeing is translucent white paper thats been intricately cut into polygons that resemble gemstones. Hassenfeld admits that the art is a repetitious and labor-intensive. Much of the work involving repeatedly cutting, folding, gluing and incorporating the quilling technique.
Hasenfeld began working with paper in 1999 and has produced several serial installations over the last decade that address the subject of luxury and the monetary success often defined by jewels and other expensive crystals.
